The design is based on a new Linear Accelerator vault, to replace the current outdated equipment, and needed support space for the Oncology Department. The project includes a therapy garden, with a masonry screen wall, to allow patients and family a quiet place during their visit to the facility for treatment. Due to the height requirements and thickness of the poured concrete vault, the massing of the building elements is screened or graded to be better proportioned with the main hospital.
